I don’t get how Destiny has run its course, it’s been out for over a decade, and it was successful but these same people buy the same Madden, 2K and CoD games every year. Those have run its course and been the same for years. Destiny is and still is my favorite game and most played game since 2014.

There’s a gaming industry report by Matthew Ball (matthewball.co) that comes out every year that has an interesting statement in the latest one; games tend to cannibalize each other’s populations. Players hold on to about 1 or 2 games a year, if that. 1,000,000 people playing Destiny is 1,000,000 PlayStation customers who aren’t buying anything else Sony puts out, ESPECIALLY Marathon. You’re right, they’re trying to force you to pick something else up. But, frankly, while Destiny was successful, Bungie as a company was not. They’re still one of Sony’s largest studios after the layoffs, and couldn’t run with that headcount for that return..
