no, it's not rates. prices need to fall. who cares if you have a 3% rate on a $1m that was worth $200k in 2022

I'm not paying $600-700k for a house that was worth $350-$400k 5 years ago. Interest rate doesn't matter. They could offer me 2% interest and I still won't pay it.

Even if rates fall it's not going to be to 3%

If 3% tomorrow, demand will skyrocket and house prices will increase so much you still won’t be able to afford it.

People in my area are trying to sell houses that are practically condemned for 270k+ it's ridiculous. I don't mind getting a small starter home and doing simple renovations but large ones like New roof, sellers are refusing to get them fixed or lower price.

And yet they won’t lower home sale prices. I’ve never seen so many homes for sale in my area but a $160k home is still priced at $560k.

Yeah I’m out. Taking my house off the market. There’s no way I’m giving up a 3% mortgage rate for picky buyers. I’ll just live here forever

The market is flooded with overpriced houses. You have a bunch of people that are just trying to cash in. They’ve got a number in their head that they’ll sell it, but don’t need to sell.

the housing market is the perfect counter to the idea of supply and demand. it's fake. prices are almost never reflective of real value.

Highly unlikely we see 3% mtg rate…certainly not anytime soon!! And if we get 3% rates, very likely economy is in pretty bad shape and be bigger issues at hand! 😳😏

On top of high housing prices and increased interest rates is increased insurance and property taxes as well as increased costs for maintenance and upkeep. Home prices are only worth what people can afford

I promise you renting does not win you anything 😂 that’s like saying leasing a car is better than financing a car because you’re saving $50 a month to “invest” more propaganda to tie your money up so billionaires can make more money

It's already been mentioned but under no circumstances will I pay for a house that's priced at +200% since 2017. 3% or not.
