the "she needs to be independent" comment really resonated with me, because no she doesn't. she was already independent, but it was the duffers that made her character in s5 revolve around the love triangle. the independence i see some people rooting for is loneliness and it just makes me sad. why should she ditch all of her friends and loved ones?

I hate when people call Steve the "mom of the group" because he's just the baby sitter, the only one he's close to is Dustin as an older brother. None of his relationships are parental in any way and it's annoying when people try and make Steve into something he's clearly not.
