coming from an ex apartment renter, i will say that you will still have many days out of the week that you want to order out. i found it easy to cook like i was cooking for 4, so i could have meals prepped for the rest of the week

Like hack maybe? idk but i moved in with my now husband when i was pregnant and now im a sahm so im primarily the one that cooks and makes grocery lists. • I usually pick like 1-2 meals for the week that have similar ingredients so that i can either use leftovers for the next meal or i can prep the ingredients on the day cook the first meal and then next time wont feel like too much. If im making rice or salad or something like that i try to add another meal that has a side of rice or salad and then i just make one big portion of that side instead of having to make a little bit of rice today and then another bit tomorrow or the next day. • surprisingly, maybe just to me, make pastas is the easiest. I learned to make alfredo not 100% from scratch but yk almost there. •If you’re someone that craves fast food learn to make them at home, i crave taco bell but hate spending money on it and tbh it’s not that good so now we make it at home. •Shop at aldi if you have one near you and they have so many meal kits and other fast food knock offs that are actually cheaper and taste better.

I'm cooking for two. Currently trialing a six month meal guide. I know the days the kid isn't home. one the days they are home one day we have pasta (I alternate her favorites) or baked potatos with something stuffed in them (alternate the two, one week pasta, one week baked potatos), wednesday my choice, Thursday leftovers or kids choice, Fridays kids choice or leftovers depending on if they're home. when they're gone I make one big thing that I like to eat while they're gone. when they're home on weekends we have different options depending on the week in the cycle. examples: beef, chicken, pork, soup, kabobs, sandwiches, Asian, Mexican, fish, whatever. once a month I just plug in the meal that goes with the guide. I even have a biweekly grocery list for the whole summer. It seems to help so far.

I've spent hundreds on doordash. Hundreds. There was a point in time I was getting doordash 5 nights a week. Lost so much money and gained so much weight. Now that I cook, I can't imagine doordashing food anymore and it makes me feel repulsed lol

Honestly moving somewhere remote with no door dash (or other food delivery) available whatsoever has been a blessing. Meal prep is key!
