@mindfulfarmer: This simple DIY tool is my backyard cover crop crimper. Today I’m using it to terminate a stand of buckwheat, one of my favorite summer cover crops. Instead of tilling, I crimp the stems so the plants die in place and become a natural mulch that helps conserve moisture, suppress weeds, feed the soil, and slowly release nutrients to the next crop. Healthy gardens start with healthy soil. If you want to know exactly what your plants need, visit our website to order a soil test and get personalized amendment recommendations to optimize plant performance. We’re also excited to share that we’re planning to offer cover crop seed mixes beginning in spring 2027. Stay tuned!
