@angelas_pantry_obsession: When I start canning pickles in my kitchen, I know the harvest season has officially begun 🤗 #pickles #canning #preserving #pantry #fyp
Mad respect for not adding sugar. Hate that. Pickles don’t need sugar ever.

Quick question from someone just starting out. What is pickling crisp? And what is the purpose of it?

Someone mentioned to me that you need to process your cucumbers as pickles within 48 hours of picking if you want them to be good and remain crisp. What’s your take on this?

I have a loose leaf tea pitcher/brewer that I use for my pickling spices so I don’t need a cheesecloth. I love it. I just pour boiling water over like I’m making tea and then I have my concentrated spice water that I just add to my brine. I just dump out the used spices. No mess no fuss
