I'm gradually rewatching the old animated series about these two. And from that perspective, let me remind you that in most cases, it's Bruce who saves Clark, okay? Mind control and kryptonite are the main gimmicks that Clark falls for.

There are people who don't know even 1% of the full extent of Bruce's capabilities—capabilities that are one of the many reasons I like this pairing. I love "power couples," and I appreciate it when they can be vulnerable with each other; however, it’s frustrating that Bruce is always the one portrayed as vulnerable. When it’s Clark’s turn, it’s usually just him being weakened by Kryptonite. Also, whenever they want to inject drama, it’s always Bruce’s fault—often in the most irrational ways imaginable: "Bruce is so complicated; why won't he just relax and leave protection entirely in the hands of *us*—the super-powered beings? Why would the 'weak human' want a say or any autonomy regarding his own well-being?" And this isn't limited to the fandom; it happens in the comics, too. People question how controlling Bruce can be—but if another character does the exact same thing, suddenly it's fine.
