At our library we can actually lend out Yiddish books - it is a library in the German city of Düsseldorf. I am so glad that I have the opportunity to do so!

My great grandparents spoke Yiddish. My granny speaks a little. I went to see the first Yiddish theatre show in London since the 90s a week ago. I borrowed a Yiddish textbook from a friend a few days ago. I am learning. Yiddish is not dead. It will never die.

I’ve been trying to learn Yiddish, even though I don’t have any Jewish ancestry. I mourn the loss of Eastern European Jewish identity and Yiddish, but hope it can be at least acknowledged more in Poland

I study Judaic studies at university and they offer courses in Yiddish and tbh I really want to take one, it’s such a beautiful language to me, I truly yearn to learn it.
