I am an MRI technologist. We have drs who refuse to have scans read by AI. We still use our radiologists.

I would say that AI will begin to replace all human diagnostics before too long. You can input symptoms, scans and lab results into a computer and it’ll be able to diagnose quicker and with more accuracy. What AI won’t be able to replace will be direct patient care. I assume that nurses and nursing assistants will be safe for some time.

middle-oldish guy here, No, and here’s why… We’ve already been thru this BS many many times Robots in factories, and the Great Computerization of every company on planet earth in the 90’s. The FIRST things companies said while going “Paperless” was “PRINT EVERYTHING, JUST IN CASE!” For the next foreseeable future, Insurance companies will be asking if the AI results were verified by a human. I see AI becoming a tool, but not a replacement.

There already research on the model, which wasn’t able to analyze images (but accepted file) and it still gave “medical conclusion”. So I wouldn’t rely on it 😅
