@simply_bible: The July curriculum is for those of us who want to understand the way Scripture functions allegorically, symbolically, and prophetically within the Old and New Testaments. Typology is one of the most important (and sometimes misunderstood) ways Christians have historically read the Bible. It is a conviction that God intentionally designed earlier events, people, and patterns in Scripture to foreshadow and prepare for later realities that would culminate in Christ. We will be exploring this by reading: James M. Hamilton Jr.’s Typology The book of Genesis John Milton’s Paradise Lost (Book 11) Along with listening to: Joseph Hayden’s “The Creation” and St. Francis of Assis’ “All Creatures of Our God and King”. So we move into the latter half of 2026 with our face set on the beauty of the cross, the tapestry of creation, and the hope of what is yet to come, because we can stand firm on the truth that nothing, not the loss of a house or the pain of sickness or the tragedy of death can put us to shame. “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another.
