I don't like AI detection software because the number of false positives is unacceptable. Too many people rely on it blindly. If this new research improves their accuracy, that's a good thing but judgement should prevail.

A cheesy enemies-to-lovers story on AO3 has never failed to make me kick my feet in bed like a little girl, even while cringing my soul out, and despite all of the grammar errors and misspellings. I've never had that experience reading anything by AI.

Vagueness is the easiest way to identify ai. If you’ve ever asked a chatbot a question you’ll know exactly what I mean. It can never give a concrete answer, almost never.

At some point, AI will reach a point where it can write better than even the best authors. I don't know when that will be. It could be next year or 10 years from now, but it will happen.
