spoilers**** okay even though the relationship between them is a bit weirder less romantic once you know who marnie is, i think its still a great commentary on how we learn what love is from our family members and anna learned love/friendship from her grandmother it is such a good movie idk

I honestly adore the fact that she's her grandma. like she was there to comfort her when she was at her worst. she was there to look after her and made sure she was loved. She did everything the older version of her couldn't do due to dying.

I love that they did this kind of premise in The Boy and The Heron too, about how your family and the people you love never really die. They exist in the pocket between time and space and love never really dies 😭
