i'm 62, when living in Australia in the 70's , Ben came in our family lives, he didn't go back to china after university, my uncle gave him a job as a Cook in his italian restaurant, we all loved Ben, so quiet, but when he talked, it was about respect, manners and knowing who you are, my cousins and I were teenagers, he brought us skating, showing us the city of Melbourne, eating the best in china town. I’m Italian, I was 15 in 1995, no internet, I used to read books and cut articles and photos about Eastern Asia from newspapers and magazines. Once I found a photo of a Japanese model in a fashion catalogue and I literally fell in love. There was almost no representation at all of Asian people on media. It’s crazy to imagine now
