I work in property subro. I saw a claim yesterday that was filed online on Sunday evening. Monday they called three times starting at 8am their time and complained that they had expected a prompt response and were disappointed. 🙄

I got my car in a shop an hour after an accident and we were in a rental not even an hour after that by just going through my own insurance. They took care of everything for me with the other insurance. It doesn’t have to be this difficult.

Imma go out on a limb here and say she doesn’t have coverage for this type of claim on her policy so that’s why she wants you to pay her. Because otherwise I’m assuming you’d reimburse the other insurance company.

I obviously have no idea how insurance works in the US. But here we only deal with our own insurance company, they sort out liability and payments between each other and any fixes I require I go through my insurance even if it wasn’t my fault. I only pay my excess if I was at fault. I would hate to call the other parties insurance!
