This hits me in the feels so hard. By all metrics I had an amazing week, aced 2 job interviews, went to a friend's wedding, and got my 100% VA rating, yet here I am at 0200, drinking alone, missing the soldier/NCO I used to be, trying to find meaning in life after my service is over.

Everyone says they give a shit, but no one ever does because everyone is busy worrying about that promotion, eval, getting that bag, dates, and whatnot. Soon as you're not physically near them. The most fucks anyone gives is #prayingforyou and they feel like they did enough.

My buddy was stationed at fort Bragg and passed way last week Monday. I can’t get is face out of my mine. I wish I called him more. Now he is gone.

Certain dates every year get hard. Mostly due to losing my friends in the army I considered brothers. 9-29-18, would've been my last day if spc Ludwig, ssg smith and sfc Osborne hadn't been there for me. Couldn't have asked for a better family

My Team lead was my bestfriend. Then I saw him a few months before I left the army. He was doing good studying, benefits a daughter coming then 2023 November I saw someone from my platoon post on facebook he died. I broke down because I know I could have done better as a friend.
