the change to have child brides was SOOOOO weird and uncomfortable for me. it feels women are not allowed to exist in the same way as the men, its not enough for her to confront genocide and maniacal killing shes a woman so it HAS to be sexual violence. with the way they are totally neglecting their female characters (superman gets a triology off the bat, batman will have 2 series with his reeves verse and his eventual dcu debut, yet no news of wonder woman ) and it feels like supergirl only got a movie so she can be an extension of Clarkโs universe and show up in his future films, im incredibly sour about the dcu as a whole for the time being. iโm a girl around karaโs age, i got my nails done in supergirl colors, i dragged all my friends to the movie, to be met with that was very disappointing. and on more nitpicky notes the โwhy is she superGIRL not superWOMANโ felt very disingenuous to me as well as having lobo SAVE her in her own title film, at the end of the movie when shes supposed to have grown and be a better, stronger, more realized version of herself.
