@thats.meow.rescue: Tonight I went to feed the colony and as always I brought extra wet food for the momma cat. But when I went to check on the kittens I had the biggest heartbreak. One is gone. I looked everywhere, in all the cat shelter houses, under all the pellets, under all trees, in the bushes. There was no kitten to be found dead or alive. No meows. No screams for it’s mom. I don’t know what happened. Yesterday she moved them back into the small house. Last night they were all there, safe. I don’t know what happened today and if momma cat just tried to move them again and she only took one and left it somewhere. Or if some predator got to it. Or if the baby just died and she took it away. I have no way of knowing. I will just monitor them more closely until they reach about 4 weeks, then I can foster them and hopefully find them loving homes and spay the momma cat. I will look again for the kitten in the morning 😩 even if I know it will probably be too late… Or maybe the momma will move the other too and I will find them all 5 back together ❤️ 🙏 But for now, I am just sad… caring for stray cats sometimes feels like a rollercoaster 😿 #kittensoftiktok #straycats #catcolony
