I had my 8th baby at 40… Then I learned weight loss after 40 isn’t about starving your body. It’s about learning how to support the systems that control energy, metabolism, muscle, hormones, and fat burning. 👀 For me, that means focusing on the basics that keep my body working: ✨ Iodine Iodine is one of the key minerals the thyroid uses to make thyroid hormones. It helps support muscle, strength, brain energy, cellular energy, and recovery. And after 40, muscle is EVERYTHING. The more lean muscle you preserve, the better your metabolism works. Muscle helps your body burn more fuel, protect your shape, support insulin sensitivity, and keep you from becoming smaller but weaker. ✨ Methylene Blue Methylene blue is something I personally use for mitochondrial support. Your mitochondria are the little energy factories inside your cells. When your cells are making energy better, your body can feel more awake, more efficient, and less sluggish. For me, my meals are built around: ✅ 70% clean protein ✅ 15% smart carbs from vegetables and fruits ✅ 15% good fats like olive oil, avocado oil, and flaxseed oil This does not have to be complicated. Here are simple high-protein meal ideas: 🥤 Breakfast ideas: • 30g protein drink, such as Garden of Life Sport Organic Plant-Based Protein or another clean whole-food protein • Eggs with avocado and fruit • Greek yogurt with berries and chia seeds • Protein smoothie with clean protein powder, flaxseed, and unsweetened almond milk 🥗 Lunch ideas: • Grilled chicken over a big salad with olive oil dressing • Turkey burger patties with avocado and vegetables • Tuna or salmon bowl with cucumber, greens, and olive oil • Lean ground beef with roasted vegetables • Chicken lettuce wraps with avocado 🍽 Dinner ideas: • Steak or grass-fed beef with asparagus and avocado • Salmon with vegetables and olive oil • Chicken thighs with broccoli and a side of berries • Turkey meatballs with zucchini noodles • Shrimp or fish tacos in lettuce wraps with avocado • Burger bowl with lettuce, pickles, avocado, and olive oil dressing The goal is not to eat tiny portions and suffer. The goal is to feed your body enough protein so it can preserve muscle, burn fat better, rebuild amino acids, support immunity, stabilize cravings, repair tissue, and make energy again. Good carbs from vegetables and fruits give minerals, fiber, antioxidants, and fuel without the blood sugar roller coaster. Healthy oils support hormones, brain health, cell membranes, bile flow, and satiety. When you combine protein, minerals, healthy fats, hydration, thyroid support, and mitochondrial support, the goal is not to punish your body. The goal is to help your body feel safe enough to release fat, preserve muscle, build strength, support immunity, and make energy again. After 40, the game changes. You don’t need another starvation plan. You need a system that supports muscle, thyroid, mitochondria, minerals, blood sugar, hormones, and fat burning. 🔥
