To be honest the "could've been skins" argument can be applied to current SPs (Silverwolf 999, Mortenax Blade, Himeko Nova) which look fairly similar in design to their base versions. I'm just glad Aventurine could ACTUALLY be meta now since I love him so much 💞💞

My issue with it is that SPs are supposed to be meaningful which beach summer outfit isn’t. I am going to get more of my two favorite characters but at what cost? Cost being that their characters don’t go through any kind of arc beyond being ready for summer, compared to other SPs we had so far. Additionally, could’ve made them relevant either way with skin + Novafare.

Too many sps I personally like sps but they’re overdoing it specially because now its not derived from a character’s progression in the game’s story it’s just an outfit change

I don’t particularly understand the feeling that they should have been skins but I do understand the disappointment of getting sp’s that changes a character’s path in their story or adds on to it but I feel like these sps keep the core idea of it and also having the summer outfits match them perfectly (imo) I think it’s fine just having something fun and having fun sp’s give us opportunities for other characters to comeback without the need to have a big life changing development in the story

"should have been a skin" and then they wouldn't have unique animations or play styles and f2p players wouldn't have any chance to grab em vs as SPs where now you can use the characters you love in new teams, they're relevant again, those who save pulls can get them for free, and now they come with brand new animations like....

Sp’s are more ftp friendly and are worth more than a skin. Saving up in game currency for a new gameplay/animations vs paying real money for an outfit.

I think it may also be Hoyo releases A LOT of swimsuits across multiple games. I know I’m a bit disappointed because I was hoping for something cooler.

Some of the same people having an issue with them being a sp rather than skins would heavily hype and froth at the mouth if it was one of their favorites getting the same sp form. The cherry picking goes crazy in these fandoms just so people can have the same twitter opinion rather than their own. I completely agree with you on all of this and am VERY excited to pull for both but especially Robin since she is what got me to play hsr in the first place, I’m glad they’ll finally be usable again. Can’t wait to see more of their animations and story

The diffrence between things like Nikke and Hsr is that nikke patches are way SHORTER Nikke is not at all like Hsr

I personally like it because it’s pretty f2p friendly, making it so that if you want them with their other oufit you dont have to spend money on the outfit, granted probably wouldn’t be more than $50 but still

I've played gachas that do that stuff so it's kind of whatever but I also know they're gonna look goofy in every other fight they weren't present for in that skin. I've seen Halloween outfits look more normal than the swimsuit ones ever do in any other context
