@destinationswithdrew: Hear me out. Fireworks are awesome. Not everybody likes them but they’re synonymous with being American in my eyes. And this year is our 250th birthday as a country. So, I get wanting to have shows and allow them on the front range and beyond. It just so happens that we had one of the worst winters on record in Colorado and the whole state is a tinder box right now. The winds are insane and it’s dry as a bone most places, which is the perfect weather for starting and fueling wildfires. All I’m saying is that I think we should have the conversation. Some people will come for me, but I just don’t want anyone else to lose their home, their livelihood or their life. There’s a lot of responsible people when it comes to shooting fireworks, but all it takes is one irresponsible person to catch entire counties on fire. I work in local government and we’ve had people complain that they spent over $15k on fireworks and it’s just not fair to ban them…. We banned them anyway.

The local fireworks shows are typically if not all of them set off by the fire department. They’re the only fireworks that should be getting set off in co.

hi. that other fire isnt in pueblo. its in Beulah. but its affecting San Isabel, Rye, Colorado City, 3R Road, Waterbarrel, Burnt Mill and Crow Cut Off. it started at Aspen Acres... weve had to evacuate due to this second fire. please dont set off your stupid fireworks. its not worth it.

those signs were probably put up before the fires escalated to what they're at and before restrictions were put on. Many towns also still have town parties, even if there's no fireworks
