@chinaminutes: 🦋 Thousands of white butterflies have been filling a crossroads in Hangzhou, China, creating a scene that looks straight out of a fairytale. The butterflies are cabbage white butterflies, now in their peak breeding season. Experts say this year’s warmer spring and recent warm, humid weather created the perfect conditions for large numbers to emerge at once. Hangzhou’s expanding urban greenery has also played a major role. More flowering plants provide plenty of nectar, while the butterflies’ caterpillars can easily feed on common leafy plants found throughout the city. Even better, experts say the butterfly boom is a positive sign. I can see why it's possible now in 🇨🇳.. I'm totally totally surprised how urban traffic noise has dropped down so low thanks to EVs. road quality very good .. little road friction noise. good driving culture also reduced horning to near zero. . little pollution probably helps attract insects
