This week I was down .4 pounds, so I am now 150.8. So close to the 140s! I’ve gotten asked a lot lately if I’m on a GLP-1, and the answer is yes. I want to be transparent about my journey because I know there’s a lot of confusion and judgment around these medications. Back in 2022, I lost 30 pounds between January and October through changing my mindset, consistency, and Weight Watchers. In October of that year, my endocrinologist put me on Ozempic to help manage my type 1 diabetes. What surprised me was that I actually gained 8 pounds over the next 6 months. Why? Because I thought being on Ozempic meant I could eat whatever I wanted and the weight would just magically fall off. Turns out I was on a low dose meant for diabetes management, not weight loss, and no medication replaces habits and consistency. I was off it for quite a while, and then last October my doctor started me on a low dose of Mounjaro. Since then, after maintaining a 35-pound weight loss for 30+ months, I am now down 41 pounds total. The point of this post is this: losing “just” 3 pounds a month adds up. Small changes add up. Consistency adds up. Time is going to pass either way, so don’t give up on yourself because your progress feels slow. How was your week? I’d love to hear in the comments. #weightloss #mondaymotivation
