Yea this is a weird take. I understand if you were busy and had things to do rather than drive but really only an hour of total drive time (according to the comments) is not an unreasonable ask. Especially if you know them and they are willing to chip in on gas or maybe buy you a cup of coffee later.

I think it's a reasonable request, I've driven an hour each way to drop off and pick friends up, and had others do the same for me. It's understandable if you don't want to, but it is not unusual and she did nothing wrong by asking.
