As a huge MJ fan myself who has literally seen the biopic movie, we really need to stop with the 'hate Netflix' trend and spamming the MJ stickers in the chat. Putting an MJ sticker next to an insult doesn't mean you're defending his legacy, and understanding how the entertainment industry works doesn't make someone a fake fan.
Look, I get why everyone is furious. The docuseries tries to paint Michael out to be a terrible person, and as fans who know his heart, seeing that hurts. But attacking Netflix shows people don't understand how streaming platforms actually operate. **Netflix is not the one in charge of creating or putting this documentary on there.** They didn't write it, direct it, or interview the people in it. An independent production company called Candle True Stories made it, and Netflix is just a digital bookstore renting out shelf space. Because the biopic is trending worldwide, Netflix's computer algorithm automatically bought the license to stream it because the data shows true-crime and pop-history get massive views right now. It’s pure math and profit, not a personal vendetta against Michael.
On top of that, **Netflix isn't in charge of just taking it down whenever people get mad.** They signed a legally binding corporate contract to host it. If Netflix breaks that contract and pulls it down just because fans are doing TikTok dances, they can be sued for millions of dollars for breach of contract.
Spreading hate against Netflix just gives this documentary free promotion, keeps it trending, and makes the fandom look disorganized. If you actually want to protect his legacy and prove the documentary wrong, use your IQ, completely ignore the doc so its views drop, and go stream his music instead. Don't shoot the messenger.
(⚠️READ ALL TO UNDERSTAND). But I’d assume none of you will know that cause you assume it’s Netflix fault but read all before replying.
