@movewithshanel: Think Cat Cow is Just a Warm Up? Think Again! Cat-Cow is one of those poses that almost every yoga class starts with, but it’s so much more than just a warm-up. ✨ 1. Hello, core! Although it looks gentle, Cat-Cow can be a brilliant way to wake up your deep core muscles. As you move slowly with intention and coordinate your breath, your core works to support and stabilise your spine. It’s not about crunching it’s about creating strength through mindful movement. 🧘♀️ 2. It can help you switch into ‘rest and digest’ mode. The combination of slow movement and steady breathing can help stimulate the vagus nerve, encouraging your parasympathetic nervous system to take over. This is the part of your nervous system responsible for helping you feel calmer, more grounded, and less stressed. 🌿 3. Your digestion might thank you. The gentle flexion and extension of the spine creates a subtle massaging effect through the abdomen, which may help encourage healthy digestion and ease feelings of bloating. It’s one of my favourite movements after a long day of sitting or after a big brunch! Sometimes the simplest poses offer the biggest benefits. Next time you’re flowing through Cat-Cow, slow it down, connect it with your breath, and notice how your whole body responds. Did you know any of these? Which one surprised you most? #catcow #yogagirlsoftiktok #yogastretch #yogabenefits #yogalover
