Helen is a bit rundown compared to the way it was years ago unfortunately. A few miles south of there is a town called Dahlonega, and it has a really neat town square filled with artists shops and restaurants. I like it better and it's well worth the visit.

So Helen Ga was a logging town that fell into decline, so to reinvent itself and bring life back to it, in the 70s they adopted the Bavarian aesthetic to bring tourism and life back into the town.

you walked past a little mountain side Rollercoaster that is really fun! try that and at least do the walk/hike to Anna Ruby Falls

how north Georgia is fantastical and if you go a little bit more North you can go into Great Smoky mountains. North Carolina is stunning out

my granny learned when she was doing our geaneology, our ancestors (great great great great great grandfather type ancestor) originally owned that part of the mountain that is now Helen. That is also where my family designed the first “plane” that they later sold to - can you guess - the Wright Brothers.

That’s where I spent the first 10 years of my life! I used to walk around the town unsupervised at 7 years old! It used to be a logging town and when the logging industry started dying down the town needed a way to keep the town alive so they turned it into an alpine tourist town in the late 70’s and early 80’s! My favorite place will always be the cafe international where you can eat a bratwurst and drink an erdinger dunkel right on the river

You also need to go to Dahlonega,Ga. it is a bit away from Helen. Also, we have alot of winery in North Ga.
