i dont think its to bad, only critique I'd give is that for that type of paiting its less about detail so the plant could be even more of just random blobs of paint. and maybe instead of gray I'd use a darker yellow or green

I think the biggest difference apart from the medium is the fact that some of the references are made using negative space and painting the backround rather than the flowers itself

not sure if this helps, but for the shadows, instead of using a grey or black. You could try using a darker shade of the other colour used on the piece. For example one of the inspo images was yellow with a darker yellow for the shadows

Aww, I like it, maybe just use a ruler for the window frame to start the lines off a bit straighter and it'd look loads better.

I thought you did pretty good! Although I think the ref pics she sent you were probs oil or acrylic paintings which would give a different effect/look when compared to watercolour :)
