@tavelarocque: day 24 of the @higherupwellness speak your mind challenge. we call it cringe. larping. acting like you're already the person you want to be before you've earned it. but that exact thing you're embarrassed to do is the only way anyone becomes anything. there's a movie called rango. a lonely little chameleon, an actor with no identity of his own, ends up stranded in a desert town. and he does something kind of pathetic. he invents a character. a tough gunslinger named rango, claims he killed a whole gang of brothers with one bullet, struts around as a hero he absolutely is not. a complete fraud. a larper. but the town believes him. so he has to live up to the lie. and slowly, by being forced to act like the hero, he actually becomes one. he walks in a fraud and leaves a legend. there's a line in it that stuck with me. no man can walk out on his own story. and this isn't just a movie. it's how identity actually works. you don't become confident and then act confident. you act it first, and your brain rewrites itself to match. psychologists call it cognitive dissonance. you become whoever you're willing to play long enough. so stop waiting to feel like the person you want to be. go play the role. #identity #mindset #philosophy #SelfImprovement
