In a typical sports manga, you would have the aftermath of a match be spent setting up the new team’s major threats. You’d have people on the team that are specifically scouting and trying to gather information to help the team even if major players aren’t involved typically someone is taking on that responsibility. In this manga, the coach doesn’t care, Anri isn’t allowed to do anything, no one on the team makes any effort, and yet these aren’t even random players. These are the people that YOU should be attempting to emulate. They’re YOUR direct competition. No one has heard of any of them.

It is bad writing. It’s one of the things inazuma Eleven World Cup does very well. They literally had welcome party for all the teams in the knockout group and they knew each team they were playing and prepared accordingly

ive been tryjng to give it a few games to simmer but its been long enough that i can say that blue lock's writing has severely fallen off since the u20 wc started. Theres too many characters to develop while still trying to keep the hype moments coming, and it all just feels so surface level
