Micromanaging will kill your best employee and your lowest employee in equal time it will destroy the entire production of the team . The experience players will be micromanaged out of making decisions, the inexperienced players will not know what to do because they’ve never had a thought of their own.

my last corporate position piped in pink noise had cameras on our desks, recorded every call and even had a camera at the bathroom door to make sure we weren't hanging out in there. there were 3 stalls for hundreds of employees. I just quit using the restroom.

26 years of experience in Aerospace management and MM aren't the only villain in the relationship. Big Corp manages a metric and if the metric isn't met, the manager loses cash hence the micro. The best ones understand this and manage the metric in inventive ways that gives the credit to the employees while growing them professionally. The lapse is the average manager doesn't want to give what it takes to be the antithesis of a MM.
