I think, for me, it’s a combination of getting older and finally accepting my autism instead of prioritizing other people’s opinions of me via masking and trying to blend in with others. Where I’m currently at mentally, I’m too exhausted to mask all the time, and, I’m too old and tired to care what anyone thinks.
