I follow Salty Crow. She spends $20.00 per week. She literally walks in to her local HEB on Wednesday with her 20 bucks and makes it work. Love the content of Poor For Dummies and Salty Crow, and have learned from them. I thought I was food frugal, but those two are next level.

A lot of people dont understand he is trying to teach skills so people can survive through challenging financial situations. If someone isn't facing the challenges that requires that level of budgeting then okay, but his focus is on those who do need the resource and skills being taught to stretch every last dime because they dont have any to waste.

Also people don’t know proper portions. They’re fighting over how many people 1 chicken breast can feed. That breast is 1lb!!! One person doesn’t need that much chicken for dinner.

People are mad and don’t want to hear that sometimes you eliminate things for the sake of budget, I’m very fortunate now but when me and my partner were starting out ohhhh, we got NOTHING fun. No soda, no juice, no snacks, lots of black beans, chick peas, veggies, and rice/quinoa in bulk (I’m vegan) no fancy substitutes. Now we happily buy what we want, but we are in a much different financial situation.

The real issue is folks don’t know how to store things properly to stretch it. Cause like if you know you don’t eat leftovers. Why would you cook a whole pack of chicken?!

I like his videos but I do think it doesnt account for things like cost of living area. I live in a high cost area, & I guarantee that for me to fee myself & my 3 teens well rounded nutritional meals for a whole month would be more than $400. Might stretch me up closer to 5-600 BUT he still has so much good info that can be used

they said they bought 8 cans of beans and 6 boxes of rice…. why would you do that? 1lb of beans and 1lb of beans less than $5.

a bag of rice go so far, potatoes, beans, chicken legs is actually the cheapest meat now or a whole chicken you can use that multiple times. for breakfast you can get a large box of eggs to last all month but grits, pancake mix. it's so many more things i can name that will actually last for multiple days.
