in the WDKALY (We do knot always love you) novel Orihime embroidered the wedding veil she made for Rukia with the ichika flowers (strawberry flowers) because of their symbolism of "happy family" and "respect and love" in the Japanese flower language, hanakotoba. So, the novel implies this gift was the inspiration behind the choice of the name. its cute to think the naming convention for her first child came from the favorite flower of her best friend which was part of her wedding veil made by her. it also gets extra points that its similar to the name of the guy that saved her life ans got renji to lock in, as well as having the flower motif of her brother's sword. its like her daughter has a bit of all her favorite people.
