@alyssa.otd: “Count Your Chickens” is the cooperative game I keep recommending to parents who tell me board game night ends in tears 🐔 Here’s why it works developmentally: everyone wins or loses TOGETHER, so there’s no kid storming off because they lost to their sibling. That alone is huge for emotional regulation in littles who aren’t ready for competitive play yet. Plus you’re getting 1:1 correspondence counting, turn-taking, visual scanning across the board, and fine motor practice moving those little chick pieces — all hiding inside “help mama hen find her chicks.” 15 minutes, ages 3+, and I have never once had to mediate a meltdown playing this one. 10/10 recommend for OT toy boxes or family game nights. #pediatricOT #playbasedlearning #cooperativegames #toddlertoys #occupationaltherapy
