Ikebukuro is actually evil. Especially kita, but even around the entrance to the station there’s a lot of old guys waiting for young girls. There were some “accidents” in love hotels, there’s yakuza everywhere, Chinese yakuza too. A lot of hosts which are banned from Shinjuku go to Ikebukuro. It’s basically very dark place, although it looks much better than it used to with new buildings etc. Still I saw girls waiting for some old guys. If you know what to look for you can see it.
