@littlearchie.bigworld: Archie had a visit to the vet today for some concerning behavior. Lately whenever he falls asleep he will make a very loud teeth chattering sound with movement. This along with his high stepping walk had us worried that he was having some neurological issues. As it turns out, he is. The teeth chattering is a type of seizure and his funny walk is due to a slow neural response from his feet to his brain. He can feel his feet but it’s almost like he doesn’t have great control of them. The vet said since his seizures are when he falls asleep it’s likely because his brain and body is slowing down and the seizure activity then takes over. Since he eats, plays, runs, and is basically a very normal puppy we don’t have to medicate him at this time and she said we shouldn’t worry either. We just love him and watch for signs of progression. Archie is special in so many ways and this is just one more.
