Not in state government. Have to submit paperwork to personnel and get position approval to hire. Then interview process, then once someone is picked, personnel has to approve that person then the start date is given and that at least another 2 week if not a month out. Only start on the 1st or 16th. Depending if that falls on a week day.

Of course you’d be replaced. It doesn’t mean the company doesn’t care. Some companies don’t care but some do. You’re saying if you pass a company should just let that job sit there open and unfulfilled? You’re taking employment away from a living person that could replace them.
