And here's the odd part that stuff often works better. Why, though? I think it's because your own tool fits you. It matches how you work. There's no clunky setup, no rules slowing you down. You picked it because it solves a real problem you actually have. That being said, it's not so simple. Companies still need to keep data safe. So the answer probably isn't "let everyone do anything." Maybe it's more like - pick from a few good tools, but let people choose. Set some lines, then get out of the way. Turns out people don't fight the tool that fits them.
