@moneywiselawyer: 6/30/26: Major student loan forgiveness win as a federal court judge strikes new PSLF regulations #studentloanforgiveness #publicservice #studentloans #studentloanlawyer #moneywiselaw
I'm sitting tight until I receive an official letter from my servicer. I am not doing A THING until all confusion and contradiction is 100% cleared.

I’ve been seeing something about the SAVE plan that if we’re still in it to stay in it as the legal process for a new possible law suit that is asking for forgiveness for those who are still in the SAVE.

can’t stand that PSLF is based on where you are employed vs the fact of consistently working the degree earned the entire time no matter where one works

They need to file a lawsuit about the current student loan payment policy. It’s unfair, unreasonable, and predatory in nature. To determine monthly payment based on 10-15% discretionary income of one’s AGI is completely out of touch with reality. As if someone making $79k has $55k of discretionary income laying around.

So if we continue to not pay our student loans, are we going to eventually have our checks garnished? I quite literally cannot afford a single new bill right now…

PSLF seems like a joke now. If I were to go from SAVE into a PSLF-qualifying plan, they want me to pay $700/mo and be paid off in 9 years. Ironic how I pay everything myself right up until forgiveness. The only plans affordable right now are non-PSLF plans.

Look, it was my uneducated decision to take out the student loans that I did and I SHOULD pay them back; I don’t need loan forgiveness. But there needs to be a cap on interest rates.

I swear PSLF for teachers used to only be five years.

I am going to be so disappointed if this changes AGAIN! I felt bullied to get out of SAVE . So irritating

Stay in it until they kick you off, which they can’t do until 90 days after you get your first notice when they start going out July 1… there’s no way that this was never going to be challenged. They were just waiting till the last minute to do so.

I went ahead and applied to be put back on IDR yesterday. I didn't want to be handcuffed by the policy changes that went into effect today.

I looked at my options. All my payoff options are 10 years & I’ve been working in public service for probably 8 years now. I have no option for PSLF.

It will get appealed, free speech is a reach on this one, honestly they need to erase all debt, and start over with 0% interest rates from now forward

Do you have a video that explains buyback? I might be able to do it and if so, I’ll be FREE of my debt!

Ok so just to clarify if you have 8 years with a 501c3, left during Covid and start back with a 501c3 today, you only need to complete 10 years of service even if you take a break?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ :
PSLF should be 5 years anyway. 10 years is too much time for a system that fluctuates this much.

Maybe dumb question, I’ve been in healthcare for 20 years, largely for non profits. I only went back a few years ago to get my Masters. For PSLF, does the 10 qualifying years only begin once the loan has been acquired?
