@theoutboarddr: Overheat alarm! Motor was overheating while running in the lake. Customer called me to come diagnose what was going on. Started it and ran it at a trashcan of water and it would hardly pump. Removed lower unit and found impeller fins to be in bad shape and one had completely broken off. Found the piece and installed a new water pump kit. I greased driveshaft, water tube, and bolts. Then installed the lower unit. Now it’s pumping like it should. #boat #repair #maintenance #mechanic #outboard

I have a 22 year old Honda 75 hp on a pontoon that has never given me problems till this year I had a ton of calcium and sand stuck in passage ways. I taped off the lower inlet removed the thermostat and pumped white vinegar into it till it over flowed put the thermostat back on and let it sit. All the calcium clogged my poppet valve and wouldn’t let water flow through the head it would still piss but wouldn’t cool the head enough
