my dad is a truck driver, one lesson he taught me was that when you see a truck leaving a gap between them and the vehicle in front of them, don’t get in front of them unless you absolutely have to, especially if your coming up to a red light. they need that room to react and brake safely as they’re so much heavier and take longer to stop, especially big trucks, and especially when they have a full load. he has had a couple close calls with cars that have gone in front of him coming up to a red light. another thing is that you obviously don’t ever brake check a truck, for the same reasons.
