“Public opinion” isn’t a good way to determine basic human rights. In 1963 public opinion was against the civil rights movement. We shouldn’t vote on who gets to be a first class citizen in society

Yeah idk I believe that we should be giving kids HRT and puberty blockers. I think trans women should be able to play sports, as long as they've been on HRT. I do believe in DIY hrt, even children, as long as trans healthcare is so inaccsesible. Don't care if my opinions aren't politically viable or whatever.

I'm a trans man in Iowa. I can't change my gender legally, Medicaid won't pay for my HRT, and I have no civil rights protections in this state. I can be fired from my meager job, denied housing, discriminated against with no recourse towards my oppressors. A lot of trans people are poor, and quite a lot of us are neurodivergent or disabled. We lack resources and social mobility, or the capability to move away if we are lucky enough to have support systems in our home states. Even if we don't, it makes moving to a blue state even harder. And NO ONE is talking about us. No one.

one of the big reasons that makes trans people such an enticing propaganda target is that not very many people are going to be willing to go out of their way to defend them. It creates a disproportionate advantage for those that attack us. Your avocation is appreciated 🫂

It’s also even more absurd when you consider that trans rights and issues tied to trans women are the only topics where the opinions of those who aren’t effected by the related laws and hate crimes are vastly valued more than the lived experiences of those who are. And trans issues are the only issues in society where “public opinion” is used to justify harmful and dangerous laws rather than human rights or basic human decency. Women being able to vote, Black people being able to go to any restaurant, bar, school, store etc, and women being able to file for divorce and own a credit card were all illegal at one time. But those things were overturned because as a society we acknowledged that everyone having basic human rights and common sense and basic human dignity matter far more than the propaganda induced “public opinion”

Most hippies my dad remembers was white the war against hippies was the drug use that they were doing like LSD which my dad remembers hearing people jumping from buildings thinking they can fly and other drugs which were just as harmful by the way my dad was born in 1946 and saw the effects of the drug cultures of the 60s
