Define extra water. Your wet year is probably a normal year highway 16 north.

Honestly have been in a drought for 9 years (less than 25 bu/ac for 9 years down to 2 bu/ac ) so not to mad when they catch one bad year considering when they call a drought a 40 bushel crop

No offence taken up here. I’d take flooding as well. Had a severe drought last year in our little 30 mile pocket last season. Crop insurance sucks ass both ways. Not sure why we even participate.

Too wet is worse takes lots of dryer years to get the land back turns to alkaline rings around sloughs that doesn’t go away the next year drought you grow better crops coming out of than to wet

Sask needs the water canals like southern alberta has, then can balance the water out.

If it crop insurance your using to Farm by necessity it is way cheaper and cost effective to be dry. A wet harvest is the absolute worst and is expensive.

I'll take dry any day over wet. Either way you don't get a crop but in wet years ours weeds get out of hand, more money on chemical, our fields are destroyed, more money for multiple tillage passes to get rid of ruts, equipment needs way more maintenance from chewing through mud and getting towed out. Dry year zip combine over it and wait till spring seeding, no more money to spend.

We’ve had enough water that’s for sure, but we have to be able to take the hay off to feed the cattle. That’s our next concern.
