The mentalist is a fun watch, but at the end of the day it is a pretty standard procedural with minimal plot or character development. Red John is great, and Patrick is an entertaining character, but that’s about it. (Plus, an invincible main character is fun at first, but then you realize Patrick will just be right 100% of the time, so you know exactly how everything’s gonna play out as soon as he says something)
