Wait… but are we also judging based on how the kids turned out? or just how much she loves her kids and would do anything for them? I would agree with Cersi on the later, but I’m not sure her oldest turned out great 😳 maybe she should have done a little less - I don’t know. "let two of your sons die over it" i think it's time to upgrade our feminism and realize that sum total of a woman's life can be more than motherhood. alicent's adult sons (who have more power than her in the social hierarchy) chose to become rapists and murderers. aemond was going to get helaena killed by forcing her to go to war. why should alicent be beholden to these ruthless, violent sons? we don't expect fictional fathers to have their whole existence revolve around their children. if we did, more people would hate jaime lannister.
