For my first delivery they billed me for oxygen every day I was there (and I wasn’t on any) and they billed me for a lactation consult and I wasn’t breast feeding. They bank on people not going line by line but joke was on them. I had nothing but time during midnight feedings.

L&D nurse here. My entire paycheck was that amount for working full time so the money isn’t going to the nurses in the room.

My OB doctor told me to always get an itemized statement. Then he said to bring it to him. He went over it and circled things and initialed it. I didn’t have insurance for my first so everything was out of pocket. My doctor saved me almost $3000.00. After that I had insurance but I always get an itemized statement. You would be surprised what they add on and get paid for.
