2000's? My brother in the 1980s and '90s, even a white kid from the McCormick projects couldn't be in the D Street projects after sundown. Boston was a tight closed town, a neighborhood town, a sundown town. Boston after sunset you only belonged in your neighborhood. it's about race but it ain't about race. it's about neighborhoods.

Couldn't go to Roxbury or parts of Dorchester. In the 70s and 80s I used to get chased down Commercial Street in the North End by the Italian kids because I was a light-skinned, redheaded, Irish kid from Southie. This is a tired old story.
