One of the biggest advantages of the dumbbell row over the barbell row is the increased range of motion. Because each arm moves independently, you can get a deeper stretch and a stronger contraction on every rep. Here's how to maximize it: 👉 hinge at the hips 👉 keep your chest up 👉 let your shoulders reach forward at the bottom 👉 fully stretch your lats Then pull by driving your elbows toward your hips. Don't yank the dumbbells with your arms. Think about wrapping your elbows around your body and squeezing your entire back. At the top: 👉 contract your lats 👉 squeeze your rhomboids 👉 engage your rear delts 👉 pause for a second Then slowly lower the dumbbells and repeat.
