@not.your.boring.hr: "My employer treated me unfairly, so I must have a legal claim." Not necessarily. 👀 This is probably one of the biggest misconceptions in employment law. ⚖️ People often confuse unfair treatment with unlawful treatment. They're not the same thing. 🚩 Your manager might be rude. You might be overlooked for an opportunity. A decision might feel unreasonable or even completely unfair. But Employment Tribunals don't decide cases based on whether someone's behaviour was nice or whether your feelings were hurt. They decide whether a specific legal right has been breached. That could include things like: ✔ discrimination ✔ unfair dismissal ✔ unlawful deduction from wages ✔ whistleblowing detriment ✔ breach of another legal protection If no legal protection has been breached, the fact that something feels unfair may not be enough to bring a successful claim. The question isn't: "Was I treated badly?" It's: "Which legal right was breached, and can I prove it?" ⚖️ Employment law doesn't protect people from every unfair experience at work. It protects specific legal rights—and knowing the difference can completely change your case. #creatorsearchinsights #hradvice #employeerights #unfairtreatment #ET

Anna :
For the tribunal fair enough. Is it enough to raise a grievance against that person at work? (Unfair treatment, discrimination, bullying etc)

user4789708955002 :
How do I prove that I policy is not followed consistently . I have a disciplinary for behaviour ,a colleague has also had complaints for behaviour but no disciplinary - for context I already have a future final hearing date for a tribunal hearing unrelated to the disciplinary but it appears there is a group of people colluding to get rid of me

Madam 🎀🦋 :
May I ask just for general knowledge... If someone is being treated unfairly and it's not something tribunal worthy, what actual support is there for people? There is a whole department for the people doing the poor treatment and then many many many rules and not much support for the people experiencing it. Tribunals are back logged and claims will keep coming... At what point will actual support come in to prevent all of this instead of collapsing a system to react to it? It feels very much like just sneezing on people all day and wondering why hospitals are getting full of sick people, even though they're trying to avoid being sneezed on. You have to stop the people sneezing on others V teaching everyone how to avoid someone sneezing on them. Maybe a bad analogy but its what popped to mind whilst typing lol
