@mercy_sanctuary: Noodles update ❤️‍🩹 I apologize for the delay with Noodle’s update. Popeye took a lot of my focus the last few days. Noodles had a farm call last Wednesday due to a dished in side. I suspected she broke her ribs from blunt trauma (likely a horse kicked her) & did not want to put her in the trailer. Since I did not know the extent to her injury, the chance of a fracture & fragment puncturing her lung or heart was not something to risk. I did have to walk her about half a mile to the pens which was stressful. Thankfully Noodles remained stable with no fever, a normal appetite & no increase in heart rate or resp rate. The vet was able to get radiographs & it did confirm that 3 ribs on her right side were fractured & displaced. Thankfully they are in the best place we could’ve hoped. They are over her stomach (away from the heart & lungs) & close to the sternum so there is little to no motion. While it appears to be a crush type fracture that will heal fine on its own, we will have to watch incase any of the fragments turn into a sequestrum. I’m not sure where it happened, what horse kicked her or what caused the scuffle as they are out on a 40+ acre pasture. Noodles & her mom are up in a pen while Noodles heals. She isn’t complaining about the attention of course lol 😂❤️ Noodles bill was $417.25. We raised roughly $210 of her bill so far. I’m behind with her emergency bill, hay fundraising & Popeye’s emergency. It’s been a lot of juggling, but they are worth it. I strive to always give them the best care. If anyone would like to help with her vet bill, Popeye’s or hay it would be greatly appreciated.
